The purpose of this group is to create a place for gardeners in Lamorinda and the greater East Bay to find information about gardening with California native plants. Some of us are new at this, others might have years of experience, and others might be tempted to give it a try. We can use the blog to ask questions, find nurseries and gardens to visit, exchange cuttings and seeds, and to find fellow gardeners in our neighborhoods.

ReplyDeleteSara, Hank and I took a trip to Yerba Buena Nursery off Skyline in Woodside. What a great place for a native plant geek. We had a lot of fun and picked up a few plants including a 5gal. Fremonia (California Glory), two of their famous Mimulus 1 whites that people get on a waiting list for. They claim it's the ONLY truly white mimulus. It's a hybrid. I've got a Mimulus bifida from Annie's. The bud looks white so I have to wait a few days for the flowers to come out before I will know if both species are truly white.
Sara got a small bush type of mallow. Hank slept all the way home in his seat next to the Fremontia.
